Weight loss is typically a primary goal for people seeking binge eating disorder (BED) treatment. This will be addressed at BEDA 2016 workshop, “So… Weight Loss is Not the Goal?!”: How to Help Clients Recover when Weight Loss is Their Goal.

A panel presentation will offer strategies for medical and clinical providers about how to best approach the weight loss question, suggesting effective initial approaches to guide the work of ultimate body acceptance and compassion.

Using lecture, audience participation, and discussion, this workshop will explore a variety of methods to provide the best medical information, psycho-education and strategies for clients dealing with BED.

Presenters include Amy Pershing, LMSW, ACSW; Suzanne Dooley-Hash, MD; and Theresa Chesnut, LMSW, LCSW.
